The music of Karlheinz Stockhausen, 73 year old experimental composer, has long incorporated elements of theater and spectacle. He has followed Duchampian aesthetics, searching for metaphorically violent ways of thrusting image and sound together.
His 1994 "Helicopter Quartet" (based on a dream he had of "towers of television screens", thousands of outdoor spectators, musicians in flying helicopters), was creepily prescient of September 11th as live spectacle.
Inevitably, he responded to the attack in those terms, as "The greatest work of art there's ever been. That people rehearse like crazy for ten years, totally fanatically for one concert, and then die! Compared to this, we are nothing as composers."
ora então:
6 coisas sobre mim:
Passo ao Miguel, ao Francisco, ao Miguel Barreto e à Rita.
-O meu provérbio preferido - "Nem o pai morre nem a gente almoça";
-Adoro torradas e Sumol de Ananás;
-Tenho ataques de riso com coisas que só se passam na minha cabeça;
-Detesto migalhas e portas a bater;
-Tenho celulite;
-As manhãs solarengas fazem-me feliz;

I'm standing here waiting for you to come
In the sky some kind of strange sky phenomenon
Feel strange to have you as a friend
But I'd rather be your friend then to never see you again
I'd rather be your friend
You stare at the sky, colours reflecting in your eye
Could it be what they call the northern light?
But here and at this time of year it's like someone spilled a beerall over the atmosphere, it's like someone spilled a beer
And I called out your name like the name of a coming hurricane
I called out your name like you call out when you're in hurt and pain
I called out your name but you were caught in a heavenly silver rain
You and I are not the same, we're divided by the smoke of an aeroplane
Of an aeroplane
Flock of birds in the sky flying south, they know this place will die
And I wish they could take me with them but I would not be accepted 'cause I can't dance the funky chicken
I can't dance the funky chicken
I'm standing here waiting for you to come. In the sky some kind of strange sky phenomenon.

and the wind whispers mary....

[she leads him out onto the frozen Charles River]
- I don't know. What if it breaks?
- What if? Do you really care right now?

- Joely?
- Yeah Tangerine?
- Am I ugly?
- Uh-uh.
- When I was a kid, I thought I was. I can't believe I'm crying already. Sometimes I think people don't understand how lonely it is to be a kid, like you don't matter. So, I'm eight, and I have these toys, these dolls. My favorite is this ugly girl doll who I call Clementine, and I keep yelling at her, "You can't be ugly! Be pretty!" It's weird, like if I can transform her, I would magically change, too.
- [he kisses her] You're pretty.
- Joely, don't ever leave me.
- You're pretty... you're pretty... pretty...

Trabalho atrasado para me fazer lembrar outros tempos.
